Moonrise / Sunset Family X-C SKI Social
this Friday, January 14th at COYOTE HILL Nordic Trails.
Show up anytime after 4pm and ski the groomed trails at your leisure.
Enjoy your ski under the colorful skies back to the parking lot
for some free soup & chili while socializing next to the campfire
with hot cocoa and s'mores.
You may bring something to share though not required.
A great activity for families, and skiers of all ages and abilities.
Dress warm and bring your Head lamps or flashlights.
Let us know if you are able to bring a crock pot of soup or chili.

Coyote Hill is located 6.5 miles north on Piedra road (from Hwy 160)
on the east side (right) of Piedra Road.

FREE X Country Ski Clinic

The Pagosa Nordic Club will host this great FREE introductory Cross Country Ski clinic.Come learn how to make these outdoor winter activities even more enjoyable. This 2 hour clinic is a great opportunnity to get more familar with skate skiing and classic cross country skiing techniques for beginers and intermidiates. Send us an email at pagosanordicclub@yahoo.com and let us know you want to join us. Most Local ski shops are offering discounted X-C Ski rentals for this event, just mention you are attending the free clinic. You will need to have your equipment arranged for ahead of time and be prepared to start at 9:45am.

Learn to Ski Day, Jan. 9th

The Pagosa Nordic Club will host a FREE LEARN TO CROSS COUNTRY SKI AND SNOWSHOE CLINIC on Saturday January 9, 2010 at the Alpine Haus Ski Center located at the Golf Course clubhouse. The event will start at 9am and participants will be able to choose from beginner to intermediate levels of Skate Skiing, Classic Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing instruction. Check with Local ski shops as they will be offering discounted gear for the event. You will need to rent your gear prior to the event. This free event is designed to introduce and familiarize people to the sports of Skate Skiing, Classic Cross Country Skiing or Snowshoeing. All ages are encouraged to attend. Hello Cross Country Skiing Enthusiasts;
What a great storm with Lots of new snow! Let the season begin in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.
THE PAGOSA SPRINGS NORDIC CLUB has packed out trials at the Town Park Practice Field, the NEW Yamaguchi Park (east of High School) and Reservoir Hill.
The trails are wide for skate skiing and very ski-able.
This is our first pass on these trails since finally getting snow.
The grooming will get much better with set tracks on the next couple grooms.
Pagosa Nordic Club Will Also be grooming West Fork Starting this Weekend.
More trails to open Soon; Coyote Hill, Turkey Springs and Williams Creek Campground.

Great Ski B Q at Fall Creek! Awesome food cooked by James and Bryan, including burgers, brats, hot chocolate, and thanks to Mary for bringing some delicious cranberry bread! Skiing under the moonlight was beautiful and keeping warm by the campfire with great people, epic. Be sure and come out to our next Ski B Q in December!

PNC Meeting November 4th

The Pagosa Nordic Club held a meeting on November 4th. There were over 25 people in attendance with lots of excitement and energy for Nordic Skiing.
The Board of Directors was elected with James Dickhoff serving as President, Doug Call serving as Vice President, Kenny Daniels serving as Treasurer, Stephanie Jones serving as Secretary and Robbie Johnson as Board Member.
A Trail Grooming Training Day is set for November 15th.
The next meeting is scheduled for November 18th at Town Hall at 5:30 PM.

MOON RISE / SUNSET SKI-B-Q SOCIALS:
The Pagosa Nordic Club Invites you to join us for our fun Moon Rise / Sunset Ski-B-Q Socials. We gather at a predetermined groomed trail to enjoy an easy ski under the colorful skies, free BBQ and socialize next to a warm camp fire with some hot cocoa. A great activity for families, all ages and abilities. Come learn about the Pagosa Nordic Club and the Pagosa area Groomed Nordic Trails. The following is a schedule of our monthly Ski-B-Q's. Pagosa Springs Nordic Club

The Pagosa Nordic Club (PNC) has expanded Nordic Ski Trail Grooming this winter which now
includes 5 Nordic Track trail heads with more than 50 km of trails groomed for Skate Skiing, Classic Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing. NEW this season is Reservoir Hill, Coyote Hill, Turkey Springs, Williams Creek and the Expanded West Fork trail system. PNC's new grooming equipment will provide a smooth wide surface for skate skiing with set tracks for classic cross country skiing. All trail heads accommodate all ability levels, beginner to advanced.

The Pagosa Nordic Club is a non profit volunteer organization with a mission
“To enhance winter recreational opportunities in Pagosa Springs by maintaining accessible groomed winter trails for skate skiing, classic cross country skiing & snowshoeing for all ability levels and to encourage and promote the use of these winter trails through education, marketing and events”.

Trails are FREE to use, however donations are a critical part of our funding which enables us to continue our grooming efforts. Funding for the Groomed Nordic Ski trails project relies on generous donations from our trail users as these funds are needed for our grooming expenses.

Please sign in at the trail heads. The information collected will help the club in securing future equipment funding through grants.

The Pagosa Nordic Club would like to thank the US Forest Service, Town of Pagosa Springs, Archuleta County Government, local businesses, residents and visitors for their continued generous financial support for the groomed Nordic ski trails project. All membership fees, donations and sponsorships are tax deductible.

The Pagosa Nordic club will host monthly full moon ski-b-q social events. A chance to meet new
people and try out some of the groomed trails under the sunset and moon rise. Enjoy a free BBQ, ski and camp fire amongst friends of Nordic skiing and snowshoeing.

Pagosa Nordic Club will also host Learn to Ski & Demo Ski Days. This series of events is designed to introduce and familiarize people to the sports of skate skiing, classic cross country skiing and snowshoeing. All ages are encouraged to attend. Local ski shops will have some equipment available to try out and you will be able to learn about Nordic skiing and some great techniques from some of Pagosa Springs best skiers and snowshoer's.

Pagosa Nordic Club will co sponsor with GECKO a Nordic Ski Race during Pagosa Winter Fest on
